PARASOL:

Melancholy pop-spiritualism and dreamy harmonies coalesce on the new album, Easy Tensions, by Norwegian orch-drone-pop outfit Sleepyard. Euphoric ethereal art-pop, dreamsicle choruses that don’t need verses, chanted mantras that sooth any troubled soul.

Exceptionally melodious and mysterious orchestral drone-popping psychedelic meanderings from Norway,, s Sleepyard, plush sounds akin to French retro-dream-poppers Mellow (but mellower), Sean O,, Hagan,, s High Llamas (but much higher), and The Beach Boys most far-out recordings. With the prerequisite heavenly harmonies and mantric chanting leading the way, Sleepyard get their cosmic groove on, and you the listener will float away in the iridescent bubble of your choosing. An album where Summer is always just around the corner.

HIGH BIAS:

Sleepyard is well-named. Easy tensions floats on amber waves of ambient baroque pop, gently wafting over your earlobes the way a breeze flutters over the top of a field of grass. The Kersbergen brothers add layer upon layer of harmonies (when there are vocals at all) and warm analog keyboards to their soporific psychedelia. "Sea of Love" is an honest-to-goodness pop tune, but "Memory of a "Moondog", "Wild Honey Skyline" and the appropriately-titled "My Lush Friend" sound like unused backing tracks from Smile. Whether thats manna from heaven or muzak from hell is up to you.

NEW ALBUM FUTURE LINES

FUTURE LINES- SLEEPYARD

As you need good sleep to feel awaken and strong afterwards -

Sleepyard is the place of dreamy almost childish state of mind,

while traveling among fresh fountains in your musical subconsciousness.

.

And nothing will be told straight, as those songs has not much words but

meanings - and so multitude are the layers of sound the Sleepyard vibrates.

From One Pristine Morning - it could seem as if young Edward is up at the

early down, overlooking open field, waiting for the sunrise somewhere in

Norwegian village of lost peaceful time.

But also it's the new morning of the space age with impressions coming over

and all above, with concern and grace.

And in the beginning there were birds. Aren't their singing familiar as by

the same lake you know well?

Until you will be softly trapped by the afternoon sun and magic of open horizons.

And like coming to the sea it's naturally known - but fresh and new every time.

Aside the speedway the view is wider.

Even simple lines and notes sound soulfully deep as presented with experience,

the form is filled with empathy.

Still it leads to no dark corner of posed depression. Instead you will be braced with catharsis and serenity, with calm reminder - this is more genuine mood of yours.

So, it's not escapism but an aim to hold up the ideals.
