Skye

Born in Brooklyn and raised through out the boroughs of New York, Skye has created his own style of R&B. At the young age of 23, he takes his unique experiences in life and concepts that he found in hip-hop to make his own sound and style of R&B. With a catalogue of over 50 songs that he’s written, Skye is a proven singer/songwriter. At the age of 12, Skye lost his brother to the pitfalls of the streets further developing the pain that would be embedded in the voice in the passionate crooner. Raised in

a fatherless home, he was also pushed to have a more mature mind state, which is shown with his sensible song writing ability.

Skye has managed to persevere in the music business despite the doubts he faced from his own family members who told him he would not make it. Although young, Skye has developed powerful relationships with some of the today’s hottest producers. Those relationships have blessed him with tracks from Jimi Kendrix(Jay-Z, Ashanti), The Heavyweights(Ne-Yo, Rihanna), Onree Gill(Alicia Keys, John Mayer),The BeatBanggahz(Trey Songz, Sisqo), Neek Rusher(Cam’ron) and the Souldiggaz(Beyonce, Missy).

He’s also collaborated with Universal recording artist Sha’liek Rivers, rapper Pudgee tha Phat Bastard and in-house producers  KP, Nemesis, Blitz, and Jazz. Skye’s hustle never stops. Along with singing background for the legendary James Brown at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, He has been placed on numerous mixtapes from such notable DJ’s as: Streetsweepers, Cool Kev, Finesse, Radio, DJ Gooch, PT Spinna and more.

Volume 1 of his first mixtape series “Heart of the City” has pushed over 2,000 units since October in the US and overseas. His myspace page has garnered a great fanbase with over 5000 friends, over 70 plays per day, and over 50,000 views since late 2005. In addition, Skye has been interviewed by blog sites Allthatsfab.com and Thebreezyeffect.com as well as gotten air play from NYC radio station 90.3fm, and Maine stations WWBX 97.1fm and WBZN 107.3fm.

He’s also gearing up for interviews with the SOURCE Magazine and Buzz Magazine Online. Skye is also making his name known overseas(Netherlands and Germany) with placements on mixtapes and radio shows across the Atlantic.



When asked who his audience is, Skye says, “Anyone that wants music with pure truth. My audience is broad. I target the ladies and identify with the fellas. My music is about love, sex, and life’s choices. I say the things people think but are too afraid to say. From 14-45, you will love my music. I am one of the leaders of the resurgence of real R&B."
