MO BETTA Mo Betta, is a 24-year old Harlem native who is definitely on the rise. Mo Betta lives for his music and has performed at various shows throughout New York City, at venues such as Club Speed and Remote Lounge – along with numerous shows out of town at historically black colleges.



Mo Betta began his rap career at the age of 15 with then partner, Juelz Santana – as a rap group called Draft Pick. While together, Draft Pick performed several shows throughout New York City, including Amateur Night at the world famous Apollo Theater – where they won and received recognition two weeks in a row. The duo was also featured in Source Magazine’s “Unsigned Hype” column. Mo Betta and Juelz Santana later chose to pursue solo careers, and today, the brothers by adoption, remain close friends.



Since then, Mo Betta has been pursuing his music career with full attention focused on his success. He has been working on various projects to further himself in the rap game. His first album, “The Listening Party,” released in early 2005, includes songs featuring Juelz Santana and Sacario. His sophomore album titled "For Better or Worse," includes songs featuring G-Dep, Dylan (from MTV’s Making the Band 3) as well as Juelz Santana.



On his sophomore album, Mo Betta worked with producers Ron Browse, Develop and Heat Makers, amongst others. The first two singles on the album, entitled, “Fed Up,” about a girl being down for you even when it gets hard and "Like That," about girls with “junk in their trunk,” were released in Summer 2006. Mo Betta and his production team put together videos for both singles, which aired on cable access shows. He is currently working on his third album entitled, “Mo Betta Blues.”



To add to the list of moves made to promote his talent, Mo Betta has performed as an opening act for reggae sensation Sizzla, Juelz Santana, Mic Geronimo, Royal Flush and more. He is continuously working to book shows and open for acts such as Ludacris, Juelz Santana, Playaz Circle and others.



In addition to being a performer, Mo Betta writes music and dabbles in movies. He has written tracks for MTV V.J., La La, and co-starred in roles in independent films such as “Big Time Rapper,” “Brooklyn Boys” and “Sorry Haters,” starring Robin Wright Penn (Sean Penn’s wife), which aired on the cable channel Starz and sold over 100,000 copies. The film is now available on iTunes, Amazon.com and through other entertainment outlets. Mo Betta is keeping busy working on his next movie, “Full Circle.”



He’s set to continue working his way up in the rap game and take things as they come, "For Better or Worse."
