We're Skimmer. Based in Birmingham, England. We write skewed pop songs.



Our fifth album, Self Harmony, is out on Waterslide on Japan and the UK now and also available worldwide on iTunes. As with our previous album, it's produced by Nigel Clark of Dodgy fame. Full of catchy classics it's an ideal golden wedding present for your gran.



The next album will be released in early 2011. As with everything we've ever done, it'll be on real CDs, too, the kind that nobody buys anymore, as well as downloads. It's all recorded, and sounds mighty fine, and we'll be touring to promote it as you'd expect. We'll launch it with a special preview show in Tokyo in March, the first date of the Japan 2011 tour.



One of the tracks from the forthcoming album, Emily NO!!, is now on youtube, with another to follow soon. Once we've filmed it, obviously.

Can't get enough Skimmer songs? Well, the retrospective double CD 'Smitten', is now also in the shops. It contains all the songs from our out-of-print first 2 albums plus some extra songs, which in effect covers the period from our first demo in 1993 up to the 1999 Tufty Club EP. Along with 'Still', 2007's 'I'll Tell You What!' album and Self Harmony, that's a lot of Skimmer records to go and get. In good shops everywhere, or if you want to buy any of them directly from us through paypal get in touch and we'll sort it.
