Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas — The Choirboys - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 24, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
The Choirboys, a 'boyband' composed of abbey and parish church choristers Andrew Swait (Tewkesbury Abbey), William Dutton (St Mark's Church, Harrogate), and Bill Goss (St Olave's Church, York), perform the sentimental Christmas song 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.'

Written by Ralph Blane and Hugh Martin, the song was originally performed by Judy Garland in the 1944 film 'Meet Me in St Louis' and has since been covered by countless singers and musicians, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, and James Taylor.

Lyrics:

When the steeple bells sound their 'A',

They don't play it in tune.

But the welkin will ring one day,

And that day will be soon.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,

Let your heart be light.

Next year all our troubles will be out of sight.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,

Make the yuletide gay,

Next year all our troubles will be miles away.

Once again, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore,

Faithful friends who were dear to us will be near to us once more.

Some day soon we all will be together if the fates allow;

Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow.
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

Once again, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore,

Faithful friends who were dear to us will be near to us once more.

Some day soon we all will be together if the fates allow;

Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow.
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
