A natural understanding of structures, beats, rhythms and melodies is what sets the basis of a good producer. Shri has mastered all these aspects and has now set the par for many DJs and Producers with the unique and diverse style that he brings to the music scene.
What sets Shri apart from many individuals is his dedication to the music that he produces. Shri strives to achieve his utmost potential in everything that he constructs, and it is this enthusiasm and commitment which helps make him the exceptional musician that he is today. Shri's styles are distinctly unique and he has been influenced by his parents and many other artists.
Shri's real name is Shrikunj Gadhvi (''Shrikunj'' which means Lord Krishna's Holy Garden. ''Gadhvi'' is a Gujarati cast that specialise in and are known for Music and Poetry). Shri's background and family history has encouraged him to take steps into his ancestral customs leading him down the musical path. Many of Shri's family members are within the music industry (Mahesh Gadhvi, Singer. Kurran Gadhvi, Producer. Neel Gadhvi Percussionist).
Born in North London, Shri's admiration for musical rhythms sprung at an early age of 2 when his inquisition led him to play the Tabla (which is an Indian drum). His skill for this instrument has not gone without merit and has been constantly acknowledged and admired for his expertise. At the age of 7, Shri picked up how to play the Dhol and began to do performances around the UK.
At the age of 16, Shri was asked to board a ship for the 2009 Laxminarayan Cruise along side many international artists including Ashit Desai (Ashit Desai sang devotional songs for Attenborough's film 'Gandhi'), Hema Desai, Alap Desai together with Anup Jalota, the famous Bhajan/Ghazal singer known across the globe. Shri has also performed with many other renowned international artist; and this was the boost that Shri needed to continue with his passion.
For many years Shri placed his main focus and interest in the Bhangra circuit. After testing the boundaries and experimenting with a variation of styles and genres, Shri had discovered that his true passion lies not in one, but in many genres such as Hip-Hop, Grime, R&B, Garage, Arabic, Jazz, Bhajans, Bhangra, Bollywood, Ghazals, Qawalis and much more. These genres speak to Shri, the emotions are real. Every song, every beat brings a different energy and vibe to him.
It has gone without saying that this talented young star is gifted with the art of music. The ability to play the Tabla, Dhol, Dholak, Harmonium, Drum Kit & various other instruments.
The ability to understand music from deep within. To be able to produce his own lyrics and express these thoughts through his vocal singing. His aim to express his talent as a producer through various music.
Shri has no limitations; He will test his ability with all genres. But he mainly wants people to hear his music, because it's what he loves, he wants them to hear what he has to say.
Shri aspires to increase his range of styles and hopes to eventually break into the mainstream and make his talents known internationally. Shri has made a name for himself in the UK as a remarkable and gifted producer, DJ and composer of music and it is without doubt that we can expect unique and vibrant compilations from this new and upcoming talent from North London.
