Anyone who thinks mainstream rock music is dead has obviously failed to hear Central Kentucky’s rock juggernaut Shoveltooth. This unit’s distinct sound infuses earthy guitar tones and riffs from guitarist Frank Newberry with heavy handed and infectious grooves by bassist Chris Antrobus and drummer Jason Moore, overlaid with the smooth, yet powerful and unique vocals of charismatic front man Josh Hall.

Formed in 2005, Shoveltooth took the state of Kentucky by storm with anthems such as “Shiver”, “Tomorrow”, and “Why”. Over the last few years, the band has played countless shows in front of peak capacity crowds not only throughout the bluegrass state but many other venue’s throughout the nation, with many fans comparing their shows to a near religious experience. Shoveltooth’s music is a mix of radio-friendly rock and catchy, yet deep lyrics that have even been called philosophical by some critics.

Interest in the band has been building at an alarming rate over the last year and their internet popularity is unprecedented by any standard. Shoveltooth is everywhere you turn on the web, Myspace, Facebook, Reverbnation, Twitter, Technorati and the list goes on and on. Now, with the band stretching mainly into the national scene, a new album ready for release and booking for the summer/fall touring season well underway there seems to be no stopping this full throttle rock phenomena.
