The music charts have been largely dominated by a blend of Hip Hop, R&B & Pop Female Artists. The marriage of gritty soul music over intense Hip Hop
tracks has shaped the sound of today's popular music scene. Well, Shiré is bringing a fresh new voice to fans with her new Mixtape "The Most Under-rated" where she talks about her experiences in the music business and how she has been grossly Under-rated. She definitely is one of the most gifted and talented singers in the game today but has not been given her fair chance to shine. So she is set to prove it with this new Mix-tape album and her new solo record deal with iMG/Raspy Voice/Universal Records.
Shire' is far from a newcomer to the industry; she got her first big break while still in high school when she met Sisqo of the R&B Group Dru Hill. He utilized her talents as the foundation and lead singer of the girl group he created called Lovher. Lovher was signed to Def Jam Records and made some noise with their single "How's It Gonna Be" which landed on the Rush Hour 2 Soundtrack and then with the follow-up single "Girlfriend," which Shiré, then known by the nickname “chinky”, actually wrote. However the group’s debut album was never released due to Sisqo’s other commitments and much publicized trouble with Def Jam. When the deal fell apart, the group split up and Shiré began working on her solo career.
She was featured on several platinum rap artist albums, such as DMX, Camron, Method Man and The DJ Kay Slay Mix-tape Series. Through a mutual friend, she made her way to Philly and signed with CK Management Co. Charles "CK" King founding member and CEO of CK Management was inspired by the young singer's drive and vision from the first day he met her. "Shiré epitomizes the old cliche' that 'Success is but failure turned inside out," says CK, "Just when most people would've given up on their dream, Shiré fought even harder for hers. I knew that I had to sign her from the first time that I worked with her. She has 'it' – that rare blend of pure talent, drive, determination and the relentless work ethic that it takes to be a superstar in this business. I truly believe that she is destined for greatness."
In 2008, while shopping some songs on her demo, veteran Record executive and Business mogul, Steve Rifkind made his move to sign the young talent. Within 24 hours of hearing her voice and personally meeting her, Rifkind fell in love with her and offered to sign her to his SRC/Universal Motown label. "I think she is outstanding, hard working and very driven," says Rifkind. "Plus, she is beautiful and has the voice of an angel." After two years of recording and several un-kept promises for a record release, Shire’ was never given a fair chance to succeed; Her Album again was never released. Shortly after asking for her release from SRC she signed an independent deal with iMG/Raspy Voice/Universal Records. "I have been blessed once again with another chance to pursue my dream," explains Shiré. "I have always been able to reinvent myself yet stay true to who I am. My new mix-tape, "The Most Under-rated", is not only making a statement to the industry, my peers and to all of my fans, but it also symbolizes who I've become. I represent the girl next door - that "round the way" chic; the girl who despite all of her talent was never given a fair chance, but always seems to keep fighting back “Against All Odds”. Now armed with a new deal and a new outlook on the industry, Shire’ is set to release her debut single in early 2011 and her debut album in 2011. Stay tuned!
