Ashiya Prince is what the entertainment industry would call "a triple threat." This free-spirited artist is not just another pretty face; she can rap, dance, AND act. In a business that has been criticized for placing more emphasis on "image" than "ability" she shatters stereotypes with her blend of exotic beauty, charisma, and undeniable talent.



Ashiya, who is of African American descent, from a young age knew she was destined to become an entertainer; performing is in her blood. Born in Jacksonville, Florida as a child she watched her family experience life altering changes. At the age of nine her parents finally got a divorce. Transitioning from a family oriented home to a single parent environment was a new challenge for Ashiya. "It was difficult at first because I thought I was the only one experiencing these changes.



Growing up, Ashiya attended performing arts junior and senior high schools. At 14 she began competing in national pageants and dance competitions. While attending Wolfson Senior High she began to venture into the entertainment world day by day. She started their first dance team The Wolfson Wolfettes while still maintaining a 4.0 G.P.A. Upon high school graduation Ashiya received a full scholarship to the University of Florida, where she is a current English and Criminal Justice major.



Ashiya, then learned that The Miss Black United States Pageant was looking for a new Florida representative. So, she began to devote her energy into training for this prestiqous event. In April 2005 she went to Orlando, Florida to compete for the Title of Miss Black Florida. After, capturing the crown she used her title to promote her platform Take Stock in Children.



During her reign as Miss Black Florida, Ashiya, was introduced to a lot of record executives in the music industry. She began to take an active notice to the musical side of the business when introduced to her manager Levi Jordan. Upon their initial meeting they had decided to go the R & B route until she revealed a hidden talent that she posse.



After she began collaborating with one of Jacksonville hottest producer MGEEZY from Top Notch recording studio and Vernon and Chris Johnson from Dime Entertainment she realized that her career was about to take off.



It wasn't long until she began touring and performing in various clubs in the south. She has graced many stages opening for acts such as; Lil Bow Wow, Lil Wayne, and Mike Jones etc. "I continue to stretch and find myself in every performance." While it is obvious she has everything it takes to be a career artist, it is Ashiya Prince unbridled passion to express herself musically that intrigues and inspires her growing legion of fans.
