Shatterneck

Shatterneck was born from an idea between guitarist Lee and drummer, Mark.



Meeting up in Marks shed to jam once or twice a fortnight, they decided to make it more permanent and more than just a bash with a few beers.



Moving the practice location to friend Coreys rehearsal studios in Coburg, they started to call around different musicians in the area to see who would be interested in filling out the rest of the band.



First to come was Roach to take the spot of second guitarist, vocalist Dan was added to the mix not too long after and bassist Tim was asked to join the band after word he was no longer part of Paroxysm.



Almost a year passes, songs are written, performed and recorded as a rough idea for a 4 track demo.



After much collaberation, intoxication and humiliation, Shatterneck decide to take a short break to write newer tracks and record a better quality EP.

During this time Dan made the decision to leave the band only to have Marc D from With Intent To Destroy join up as the new frontman, after a tiring amount of auditions.

Josh was later inducted as the percussion man as the band felt it would be a different sound than most local bands as well as a better stage look.



The existing songs are touched up, lyrics and titles changed (all but Cesarean) and fresher tracks were created.



A fair while down the track, countless gigs all around Melbourne and Regional Victoria later, Shatterneck have a very serious discussion.

They look deep into their history, further into their future and decide that a huge change up is in order.

Fresher touches to their sound, a different attitude and a different image.



Bigger.



Better.



Stronger.
