My Name is SHARON YOUNGBLOOD, I have been singing proffessionally since I was 13. I started out singing in church OF COURSE! lol And then I started singing at school, thats where my gift continued to develop. If it was not for my teacher CECELIA MEMEDE and God using her to speak to my mother. I probably would not be singing right now, because I didnt know I could sing before her. So I started Singing and writing and arranging, and my gift grew and grew. I have studied Gospel, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Musical Theater. I have also studied (in my personal time) Country, Rock, R&B, New Age, Old School, International Music, I THINK THATS CLEAR ACROSS THE BOARD, DONT YOU?? :).
I am currently hire the background vocalist for Lauryn Hill as well as sing background for her myself.
I have been on records with artist's such as Jennifer Lopez, Lauryn Hill, Kelly Clarkson, Katherine Mcphee, Jonathan Butler, Paul Taylor, Christina Agulara, Season 1 and Season 4 of american idol (the record) etc.
I have Performed live with artist's such as. Lauryn Hill, Teena Marie, Monica, Bobby Valentino, Jonathan Butler, 1,2,3 season's of American idol, Paul taylor, Ruben Studdard, Fantaisia Burino, Donnie Mcklurkin, Patti Labelle, Kenny Latimore and more.
I have worked with producers such as Tim & Bob, Damion Elliot, Corey Rooney, Jonathan Butler, Herman Jackson, Greg Curtis, Barry Eastman, Micheal Blum, Sean Connery, Qura Rankin, David Noland and More.
I have been on T.V shows such as. Performing As. ( I was the winner, Performing as Aretha franklin), American Idol (Background singing), 30 Seconds to Fame, The way we do it (Rickey Smiley), Oh Drama, Celebration of Gospel and more.
I have been trained by some of the best in the business including Seth Riggs, Debra Bird (american Idol), Cecelia Memede and more.
I have my own independent record out right now, sold localy. The album is quite eclektic, its a mixture of everything that I love, R&B, Gospel, rock, Jazz, Neo-soul, Classical. Alot of original music that I have written. Some of the tracks can be heard right on this site.
I love music PERIOD. My ultimate goal is to show Gods love through my music, represent christ while singing and touring and sharing my gift through out the world. I love the lord and although my music is not gospel, it is a positive message. I want to represent strength, courage, love, and joy. I am currently working on my new project and its going to be awsome. God is doing an awsome work in his children and its time to RECIEVE!
