Compared by many to Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, Shari is one of those special young talents that flat out floors anyone who hears her sing. Blessed with a powerfully captivating voice, natural songwriting ability and a heart of gold, this 20-year-old is one of the music industry’s best kept secrets but not for long.
Based in Deltona, FL, Shari has just completed her debut solo album titled “Up Close & Personal” with L.A. producer Steve Sundholm and co-producer Duran Ramos who has co-written and produced with C & C Music Factory, Busta Rhymes, and “The Bodyguard Soundtrack” featuring Whitney Houston. The edgy, guitar driven music was performed by some of L.A.’s best studio musicians, including members of The Calling, as well as Pink, and Lindsay Lohan band members.
Songs like the groove heavy, radio-ready gem "Wicked,” showcase Shari’s unique pop sensibility, while others like “Whenever,” illuminate her soulful vocals and potent delivery. While three songs on the record were written by other songwriters, including a knockout version of “Honesty,” by Billy Joel, Shari’s own songwriting shines throughout. Tracks like “Happy” and ”Hollow,” reveal a maturity and insight rare in teenage writers.
“I’m not contrived or fabricated in any way,” says Shari, ”The songs I sing, and especially the songs I write, are real reflections of me, my emotions and my soul.”
Shari’s musical career began in 2003 when she signed with Immanuel Productions, Inc. and recorded her first album with label mate Frank Carter. After gaining tremendous support performing throughout Central Florida, their song “Never Need to Walk Alone,” with Shari on the lead vocal and Frank on the piano, was placed in heavy rotation on several Central Florida radio stations and garnered outstanding regional reviews.
Shari has since performed in many coveted events, such as, opening up for platinum recording artist Jaci Velasquez in 2005. And in 2006, Shari opened up for Grammy Award winner Rebecca St. James. Some of Shari’s venues also include a full pre-game performance in Orlando, Florida’s TD Waterhouse Arena for the Orlando Magic and at the Daytona International Speedway during the 2007 NASCAR Gatorade Duel which was televised throughout the nation on ESPN.
While Shari and her dedicated team at Immanuel Productions, Inc. are currently exploring options with label representation, she continues to sing and perform throughout the state of Florida and beyond.
