LET THERE BE LIGHT

Shadows Of Light began forming in Nashville, TN. Drummer Charlie Phan and Guitarist Tim Gleaves came together by a chance email and eventually enlisted a former lead vocalist from Savatage for several live performances. A ray of light appeared in September of 2004 when long time friend Michael Ashley stepped in as lead vocalist. Bassist Craig Alspaugh soon joined the group and in December of 2004, they began the long process of recording the first album "Let There Be Light”. The cd was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Shadows Of Light and was released on their own MUSIC CITY METAL RECORDS label. The band unveiled the completed lineup March 24th, 2005 live on MTTV and released “Let There Be Light” with an interview on 102.9 The Buzz in Nashville and a cd release show at the legendary Exit In. In October Shadows Of Light began their “Let There Be Light” tour with dates in Tampa - Orlando - Melbourne - Tallahassee - Huntsville, AL. - Pikeville, TN, Memphis and Birmingham Alabama and Nashville. Shadows Of Light began their 2006 tour in February with performances in Nashville with Powerman 5000, and also Murfreesboro TN, Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and the Central Florida Metalfest in Cocoa. The band also had radio interviews on WHOG 95.7fm Daytona, internet radio Qshouse.com, and Orlando /Gainesville tv show UDTV. In May, S.O.L. played on the UDTV Thrash N Bash tour in Gainesville, Orlando, Melbourne, and Jacksonville. In the summer of 2006 Shadows Of Light traveled north to the Tweeter Center in Boston to play with ALICE IN CHAINS, BUCK CHERRY and POWERMAN 5000 at the LOCOBAZOOKA festival. The band also played in Cleveland, and returned to Nashville for the Day On The Green festival. In August the band played Starwood Amphitheater with Staind, 3 Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin at 102.9's BUZZFEST 6. S.O.L. returned to the road the first half of 2007and released their first video “SLOW DOWN” in April at the 102.9 “Local Buzz Live” show. They embarked on a tour in May and August to Gainesville, Jacksonville, Melbourne, W. Liberty Ky, Jonesboro, GA, Memphis, Clarksville and Johnson City, TN for the Chainsaw Circus Festival. They finished the touring year with a huge Halloween show and headlined 102.9 The Local Buzz Live. Shadows Of Light just released their new single “Lost Control” produced by Mike Farona and a brand new Halloween slide show online. Shadows Of Light is Nashville's most requested and named "Best Metal Band" 2 years in a row by 102.9 The Buzz! The melodic, progressive and powerful metal band has received airplay around the country and even overseas. Unfortunately the band parted ways in early 2008. No reunion is scheduled at this time.
