Born a worshiper, when he was six and singing for the very first time into a microphone at The House of the Lord Pentecostal Church, Seth Nix readily won the congregation's praise, a stream of good wishes that still ring in his ears and tug at his heart. "They gave me the confidence I have today. I was always 'wonderful' to them. They'd put me up in front of any and everybody," said Brooklyn-born Nix, looking back on his early years as a soloist. He was not bragging but, rather, marveling at the generosity of people in that Pentecostal church in downtown Brooklyn where Nix cut his teeth musically. The people of that house encouraged him, he said, without fail and without question.

Now, as a man after Gods own heart, Seth serves as the Chief Worship Leader and a Choir Director of The Cathedral International in Perth Amboy, New Jersey where Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. is the Senior Pastor. In the role of his dreams, he is responsible for leading the 5,000 plus member church into the very face of God on a weekly basis. I just love to see the power of God change lives right before my very eyes, he says referring to his mandate as a worship leader, the role hes most humbled and comfortable in.

As an artist, he leads the anointed group, Genuine Praise. 12 young adults, sold completely out to God. Were all like family, says Seth who formed the group in 1999. In order to anchor G.P., he taught the word of God, before singing in rehearsal. I always said that Genuine Praise was first an act of worship, before it was a title for a group of young people, he says. Therefore, we had to learn how to be complete worshipers, instead of performers or entertainers.

Seth Nix featuring Genuine Praise is the story of a born Levitical Priest and a holistic melody sent by God to serve as a prophetic voice in the raging wind. Deliverance has come our way. Indeed there is a balm in Gilead. I invite you to walk through this narrow entranceway to the inner chamber of "The Upper Room".
