Oh man, where do I begin? My name is Sean L. McMorris. I was born in New Jersey, raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and trying to make it happen in the ATL. One day I'll really write a bio, but I want to do it right. In the meantime, just know that I really love music. I love playing it, listening to it, and especially writing new music or rearranging old music. I play a few different instruments, but I mainly focus on guitar and bass. Usually I'm playing in bands or doing sessions. I've worked with people like Vinx, Gaelle, Van Hunt, Dionne Farris, and DJ Hurricane to name a few. But now, my main focus is my band and various side projects (Intrepid Souls, Curtis Scott Whitehead, Libby Nation, etc.).
My main thing, for lack of a better term, is a jam band. I never get to let loose, as a writer or a musician, the way I really want to. So I've put together a power trio of some old friends, and I'm really happy with it right now. It's definitely more on the jazz fusion side (no hippie funk here). But, I don't want it to be a shred fest either. Just music that feels good. Instrumental music that's about music, groove, improvisation, and texture. not virtuousity.
Oh yeah, and look for Space Gangstas (yet another project) in the fall. We have a myspace page, but we're being really secretive about the music til everything just right. But when we come out, it's gonna be something else.
