Since their formation in Gävle in 2003 The Scrags have performed their primtive rock act at countless more or less important venues in Europe and New York.
They have always done it their own way, paying little respects to trends or good advice.
DIY have always bin their way of making things happen for themselves. With more or less success they have made hundreds of shows without support from booking agents or record labels.
In 2006 The Scrags bought 4 tickets to New York and by handing out demo recordings at bars and on the streets they made a New York bar tour with 7 gigs in 10 days.
In 2008 their best songs were captured in large parts live to tape on the furious self titled debut album released on Alleycat Records. The release was followed by a tour through Germany, Holland, France, Spain and Italy.
Currently their creativity is on a peak, their new material combines their infamous energy with a broad range of influences.
Everything from Kraut to Rock'n'Roll, from Protopunk to New Wave has a room in the bizarre yet catchy mixture of The Scrags. A new recording session will take place at Studio Cobra in the beginning of June.
To precede this the Scrags took their equipment out of their rehearsal room in the early January to perform their new song Cold Wind next to the snowy railways in Gävle. This event can be seen on youtube.
What their summer visit to Europe will hold you can only predict.
But regardless trends and hypes The Scrags will flush souls with energy from underground and jagged electric rainstorm from the sky.
Their debut album is available through major online stores as Amazon, iTunes, CDON, Spotify, and national dealers as Interpunk.com (USA), Hyper Enough Rec (JP), Clear-spot (NL), Microsurco (ES), Tiendas Tipo (ES), Grooves-inc (DE).
