Born and raised in the San Francisco bay area, Scott Thomas would leave home at fifteen and make his way to Los Angeles working odd jobs, surfing and living in his car. By the mid 1990's Thomas had become a fixture on the LA club circuit taking up residency on Tuesday nights at Club Largo in the Fairfax district, where he, along with Jon Brion, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright and Grant Lee Phillips, would help establish Largo as a weekly 'scene.'

His 1998 Elektra release as described by BAM magazine - "One listen to California, the Scott Thomas Band's debut album, and you'll know this is the real thing. His voice equal parts Jeff Tweedy and Jackson Browne.Thomas and band emerged from the forest with the finest slice of SoCal since Gram Parsons untimely death two and a half decades ago."

Over the past five years, Scott has been writing and recording song after amazing song. Stories from a wanderer, a dreamer, a believer-laid to the perfect score for fin de sicle California. The first of three albums that spring from these recordings is Lovers and Thieves, the first release from newly formed Halfpipe Records.

Lovers and Thieves is a collection of tunes recorded in different locations and from occasional impromptu gatherings, featuring a cadre of familiar faces from the LA music scene, including; Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Counting Crows, Rufus Wainwright, The Wallflowers), Michael Andrews (Jason Mraz, Metric, Donnie Darko, Elgin Park), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), Marc Ford (the Black Crowes), Gary Jules, Julianna Raye, Denny Fongheiser (Tracy Chapman, Juliana Hatfield), Christian Stone (Campfire Girls) and more
