How many Ivy League graduates decide to play records for a living after college? Not many. While turning down six-figure job offers to be behind turntables for a living sounds crazy, it's working out for Scott Melker. And if you think his degree from the University of Pennsylvania has anything to do with the way he plays, you might just get the impression that he majored in spinning records, made the Dean's List every semester, was voted class president, and graduated valedictorian.
Combining his genre-savvy music selection - from Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, House, 80s, Funk, Soul and Classics - with his razor sharp skills on the turntables, Scott Melker is among the few selectors challenging the traditional assumption that DJs simply play records. Whether its rocking small and exclusive crowds in Manhattan hot spots, or showcasing his incredible mixing abilities live for over 35,000 people in stadiums around the world, Scott Melker takes his audience on a musical journey through his meticulously fine-tuned and action-packed signature style of DJing.
In his 10 year career, Scott has played gigs around the world alongside notable DJs and acts, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Cash Money, King Britt, DJ AM, Public Enemy, Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh, Biz Markie, Raekwon, Kanye West, Wu Tang, 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Evil Dee, Q-Tip and many others. In 2007 alone, Scott has performed with an eclectic variety of acts including Ne-Yo, TI, The Ying Yang Twins, Jet, Daughtry, G. Love, Slightly Stoopid, and Ozomatli. In addition to entertaining crowds live, Scott is hard at work producing critically acclaimed mixes. In alliance with The Rub's Cosmo Baker as "The CMB," the duo released "Live at the Spotlite," flexing their proficiency in the genre of New Jack Swing to the delight of music aficionado's worldwide. Scott also released "Live in Tokyo," a mix recorded live during a 38 city stadium tour in Japan in support of Japanese soul superstar, Toshi Kubota. The mix received rave reviews and became one of the fastest selling of the year.
"I can honestly say that I haven't heard a more entertaining mix this year."

So how does Scott Melker really do it? You might not be able to figure it out while he has you dancing, but his ingredients are simple: he understands people, their experiences, and music as emotional currency. From playing the number one record in the country, to creating nostalgic experiences, giving you a piece of your childhood back through a classic record, Scott Melker has the tracks for you - sliced, diced and blended in true turntablist fashion, and always served hot.
