Not really much to say. Sciryl Cooper. Harlem raised, 20 years. Had a love of music since I was young, then started writin in 7th grade (HORRIBLE), but never stopped. I got into the poetry scene when Ms. Lublin (English teacher) dragged me into the City Wide slam held every year by Urban Word NYC. Turned out to be the best thing I ever did. I was part of the NYC team chosen from over 500 poets citywide in 2005. Our 6 person team went to the National Slam Competition held every year by Brave New Voices, and took 1st place, making us 1 in the country for 05'. From being around so many different people, cultures and attitudes, it gave me what I needed to become serious about what I do. From that I was called to be on HBO's Def Poetry and I was on the most recent season of that. Just type in Sciryl on youtube and you can see that as well as some of my other performacnes. I dropped my first album self distributed called Reflection in April of 06', And currently preppin the release of my new album S.COOP (Slight Change Of Original Plans) Due Early Winter 08' Im Also gettin ready for a Nationwide tour that me and four of the dopest cats I know are setting up ourselves. Our First Tour date will be Dec 31st in an Undeterminded venue, however it will be an amazing night. Kesed Ragin, Brook Yung, Korim and Noetic are the Poets/Emcees Ill be tourin wit.They are all on my top friends. We are tryna hit up every single state if possible, but will definitely be hittin up the big cities. If you would like to see us perform and you have connections into that type of thing definitely dont be scared to hit us up. LET THE MOUTH OF THE MOVEMENT TOUR BEGIN!!!
