The Bio:

Science Of The Subconscious is the creation of Aaron Shier. Aaron grew up in Iowa, a state known for the darkness of its rock output a la Slipknot, in the city of Fairfield, a town known as the American center of TM, the teaching of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (yep the Beatles guru). And you might say that the music Science Of The Subconscious makes is what happens when the dark midwestern underbelly collides with its light eastern looking counterpart.

Aaron began writing songs on guitar at 12, programming electronica on his PC at age 13, and then moved to Olympia, WA, at 17 to study audio recording at Evergreen State College. In late 2005, at 21, Aaron moved to LA to begin recording SOtS with producer Herb Graham, Jr (John Cale, Macy Gray), and is it any wonder that the results sounded a bit like a Whiskey A Go Go conversation between Kurt Cobain and Martin Gore? But dont try to pigeonhole, SOtS has a sound all in its own and influences that run the gamut from Aphex Twin to DJ Shadow to Gomez to Ghandarva Veda, a reflection of Aarons absorption in a P2P world where obscurity equals availability, and a band like SOtS can turn anything it hears into its own music.

"Music is a powerful tool, we can use it for a multitude of things, to dance, to party, to let out aggression, to express a variety of emotions, but my personal favorite is to heal. Science of the Subconscious is the music I make strictly for healing purposes. It has done so much for me, and I hope if can do anything for you at all, that it does, and you enjoy it".

Aaron is currently in Montreal, Canada, continuing work on a wide variety of music and regrouping a new line up for live performance.
