"Who? Say You Will is a dedicated five-man crew out of Johnson City, Tennessee who are looking to make your days "Brighter" with the music that they so enjoy playing. How Is It? Unsigned bands are getting better these days. After listening to Say You Will's Brighter EP, though, I'm beginning to wonder how long this band will remain unsigned before someone discovers the potential these guys have that is just waiting to explode onto the world. The Brighter EP starts out with "See What I See," and already you can hear a pop-punk feel combined with a nice pinch of keys/synth; it's nothing overpowering enough to make the band feel techno, but enough to make me go "Ahh, that's nice." Next up is "Believing." This song became my instant favorite because of the way it jolts into the chorus: "We're used to not believing / Our hearts are broken / And our lives are so deceiving." This song proves the vocal talents of Chris Vittetoe because when he sings "And our lives are." he shows his ability to hit the high notes. "Sky Kites" starts out heavy s/synth and keeps them throughout the song. Essentially, this song and the ones before it are not much different. In fact, most of Say You Will's tunes sound very similar. The final track, "In A Lifetime," plays much like the other tracks, but the tempo does slow down a bit, especially towards the end, when Vittetoe sings, "Skipped a beat along the way / Take a moment / To catch my breath / You took my breath away / Always ready for / What's to come / Maybe now / Or in a lifetime / I'll finally make it." The whole band joins in here and sings that same line at the same tempo to finish the song off. Much like the rest of the album, it's really a very beautifully organized song. My only complaint about Say You Will is that there were only five tracks to listen to. Granted, they were five very well arranged songs. All I'm asking is that you "Say You Will" listen to them, because they seem to make days so much brighter."
