highland park. fall 2003. guitar feedback. then an ear-bleeding mic squeel. quickly squelched but not before irreparable damage to the auditory nerve occurs. feedback continues and into it crashes a drumbeat. fast. loud. somehow a rhythm develops. then a subtle melody. say no to the microchip begins. they will continue this scenario for the next four months until a live set s scraped together. they play. a lot. perfecting the sound that will define themselves. Its about a return to the fundamentals. a guitar. a bass. drums. simple. when on stage they speed through the set not leaving much time for talk between songs. its not a fashion show. no hair-dye or eye-liner. no jewelry, tight jeans or white belts. no designer tees or blazers. but you know by the time they have finished they will be sweating. and it won't be pretty. in the summer of 2005 they record an ep titled, "what the crows and pigeons know". it is produced by alex newport - known for his work At The Drive-In, the Mars Volta, and The Locust. the record is released by indie-label drop forge enterprises. they live on.
