SAUGHELLI

BIOGRAPHY My nom de plume is Saughelli, I started since a very young boy studying piano to convert myself after a while into the double bass, in which I graduated at the end. I started to compose seriously when I was 15 years old, afterwards I set up a rock-blues band as bass player and singer, playing both covers and unpublished English songs, excelling in several regional rock contests performing also as supporter to Pino Scotto (Vanadium – Fire Trails) at the Palasport of Monte di Procida.

My expertise has been enhanced performing as session man, playing bass in several bands of any kind of music. Particular needs have driven me to follow my artistic path as singer-songwriter, taking part into various singer contests such as: “the Lennon Festival”, running between the finalists who were representing Campania region . Amongst various exhibitions I did take part also in the “Tim-Tour” 2002, hosted by Red Ronnie.

On the occasion of the ”Unplugged European Tour” I performed in some Finnish cities such as: Helsinki, Jyväskylä , Kuopio and Turku. I sang also in a tribute band for Franco Battiato, the Italian music prophet par excellence. I take sometimes part as a double bass player in some projects sharing the stage together with international musicians, performing in happenings as “La notte bianca” (sleepless night) and in tv shows as: “May Day”. Meanwhile I play bass in a musical orchestra, performing in theatres as: “ Il Piccolo” in Milan and “Il Colosseo” in Turin, broadcasted also by the major national italian tv channel Rai Uno. I also ran the contest “Serata dei Cantautori” (2007) for italian singer-songwriter ; ad “Afrakà Rock Festival” (2007) . Hosted by the exhibition show: “Principe e Socio M. & Friends” (occasional happening for “Mezzanotte nei parchi 2007”); and in few stages where the regional selections of the Italian beauty contest was held “Miss Italia 2007”.

I took part in the kermesse “La bottega dell’autore” and in the “Tam tam digifest” tributing Elvis;

I also performed as singer and bass player in the occasion of the “Resurrextion Anniversary” (2007-2008). In my experiences I do also mention my attendance as Juror for “Squilli di tromba” Association (National contest for brand new groups).

Nowadays my credo of singer-songwriter and “poli-instrumentalist” (multi-musician), enables me to arrange and record all songs, availing myself of the contribution given by some very well known musicians. Giving thus life to sonorities between Pop and Rock, with some melodic, electric, symphonic and prog influences.

Since few months the publishing of my brand new début cd “Fregi dell’anima”, it received a good acknowledgement both from the critics and from the audience itself, with significant reviews on magazines and newspapers; “Fregi dell’anima” includes also one track written and sang together with the singer Zorama.

BIOGRAFIA Il mio nome d'arte è Saughelli, ho iniziato giovanissimo lo studio del pianoforte per poi convertirmi al contrabbasso, diplomandomi. Ho cominciato a comporre seriamente le prime canzoni a 15 anni, successivamente ho fondato una band rock-blues da cantante bassista, interpretando covers e brani inediti in inglese, primeggiando in vari rock-contest regionali e facendo anche da supporter a Pino Scotto (Vanadium – Fire Trails) al Palasport di Monte di Procida. Le prime esperienze professionali le ho avute in qualità di turnista, suonando il basso in diversi gruppi dai generi più disparati. Esigenze contingenti mi hanno spinto a proseguire il percorso artistico come cantautore, partecipando a vari concorsi canori come “Lennon festival”, arrivando in finale e rappresentando la Campania . Tra le varie manifestazioni figuro anche nella partecipazione al “Tim-Tour” edizione 2002, condotto da Red Ronnie. In occasione dell’”Unplugged European Tour” mi sono esibito in città finlandesi come: Helsinki, Jyväskylä , Kuopio e Turku. Ho cantato in una tribute band per omaggiare Franco Battiato, il profeta per eccellenza. Talvolta collaboro in alcuni progetti come contrabbassista, suonando con musicisti internazionali, partecipando ad eventi come “La notte bianca” e a programmi televisivi come “May Day”. Nel contempo suono come bassista nell’orchestra di un musical, suonando in teatri come il “Piccolo di Milano” e il “Colosseo di Torino”, trasmesso anche su Rai Uno. Ho partecipato alla “Serata dei cantautori” (2007); ad “Afrakà rock festival” (2007) e sono stato ospite nella rassegna: “Principe e Socio M & Friends” (evento occasionale per “Mezzanotte nei parchi 2007”); sono stato anche ospite in alcune tappe di “Miss Italia 2007”, selezioni regionali. Ho partecipato alla kemesse “La bottega dell’autore” e al “Tam tam digifest” omaggiando Elvis; mi sono esibito come cantante e come bassista in occasione del “Resurrextion Anniversary” (2007-2008). Ho preso parte, in qualità di giurato, all’associazione “Squilli di tromba” (concorso nazionale per gruppi emergenti). Attualmente la mia vocazione di cantautore e polistrumentista, mi permette di arrangiare ed incidere le mie stesse canzoni, tra il Pop e il Rock, con influenze melodiche, elettroniche, sinfoniche e progressive, avvalendomi anche di alcuni musicisti. Da qualche mese è uscito il mio album d’esordio “Fregi dell’anima”, con esiti favorevoli sia da parte della critica che dello stesso pubblico, con diverse recensioni su riviste e quotidiani importanti; nell’album c’è anche un pezzo scritto e cantato con il collega Zorama.
