Mariko was born in 1984 and studied voice at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City as well as violin since she was 7 years old.



Her repertoire ranges from early music to classical song and opera, all the way to contemporary music and American musical theater.



In the vein of early music, she sings and plays vielle with the ensemble Estampie and is one of the founding members of VocaMe, an ensemble with whom she devotes herself to the music of Kassia who is known as one of the very first female composers. On the opera and concert stage, she has appeared in various productions including Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte, Bernstein’s Candide, Floyd’s Susannah and as a soloist with the Munich Bach Choir. Under the name “Mariko”, she performed for almost 5 years as the lead singer and violinist of the neo-medieval group Unto Ashes and with them recorded 2 full length albums. She has recently become a member of the avant-garde medieval pop band QNTAL.

Ihr Repertoire reicht von Alter Musik über Lied und Oper bis hin zu zeitgenössischer Musik und amerikanischem Musiktheater.



Im Bereich Alte Musik, singt und spielt sie Fiedel zusammen mit dem Ensemble Estampie und ist Gründungsmitglied von dem Ensemble VocaMe, das mit der Musik von Kassia, die erste Komponistin tätig ist. Mariko trat als Hauptsängerin und Geigerin fast fünf Jahre mit der neomittelalterlichen Gruppe Unto Ashes auf und hat mit ihr zwei Alben aufgenommen. Jetzt ist sie auch Mitglied von der mittelalterlichen Popgruppe QNTAL als Geigerin und Hintergrundsängerin.



Die Sopranistin wirkte in verschiedenen Musiktheater-Produktionen mit wie Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro und Die Zauberflöte, Bernsteins Candide, Floyds Susannah. Als Solistin trat sie mit dem Münchener Bachchor auf.
