Cecilie was a special child. At the age of 8-9 years she knew she was supposed to write songs.
As a teenager she started one band after another, playing her own music with different musicians. But nothing really happened until she joined a theatre group. She was asked to compose the music to a play and it was an immediate success.
In 2000, she made her first album together with her husband Ketil Fersum. In Norwegian it was called "I am butterfly". The name of the group was "Ildfugl" (firebird). She then spent three years fighting for better treatments of troubled youths. She used the music and lyrics as a language to reach out to politicians.
In 2003 she was asked make a play based on experiences in her own life. Here she used a lot of music she had made through the years. This was a success and headed the front pages the day after the premier.
In her life and music she was always a seeker so she went to India to study at Shri PK Salve Music Academy, Maharashtra.
Here a completely new experience in her life started. Surrounded by the very special spiritual atmosphere of Indian music culture and the guidance of the founder of the academy Shri Mataji, songs emerged.
After coming back to Norway they teamed up with Harald Søreide and Eirin Røykenes. Their background from Norwegian folk music added a genuine, traditional atmosphere to the songs.
