We were four ordinary gents trying to make extraordinary tunes. We were also well-versed in the songs of our forefathers, as everyone loves a good cover. We usually gigged in and around Northwest Ohio, but were known to venture into neighboring Michigan and Kentucky. We were available for weddings, bar mitzvahs, benefit shows, rodeos, and bullfights. When not playing, we could be found: packing and shipping light bulbs, directing small industry operations, vending gasoline at great prices, and teaching Spanish to the leaders of tomorrow. Listen to our music! If you like it (and want to get your very own copy) write to us at sanderlingsband@yahoo.com. We also appreciate mix tapes, hand-written love notes, and SE Asian cooking.
We opened for the likes of the Gin Blossoms, People In Planes, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, the Heartless Bastards, The Hard Lessons, the Dirt Bombs, Cut In the Hill Gang (featuring Johnny Walker), The Loft, Dooley Wilson, Koufax and Ekoostic Hookah as well as having played alongside some of the area's best rising talent at venues such as The Blind Pig (Ann Arbor), Headliners (Toledo, OH), Mickey Finns (Toledo), Frankies Inner City (Toledo), Howard's Club H (Bowling Green, OH), Phoenix Hill Tavern (Louisville, KY) and Lexington's Kentucky Theater. Our first single "I Heart Monogamy" has also been featured on several commercial radio stations including Toledo's The Zone 106.5 and Detroit/Windsor's New Rock Alternative 89X. Recently our song "Oh, Saguaro" was selected as GarageBand.com's Alternative Rock track of the day for February 7th, 2009! "Dr. Anne" has received similar accolades!
Yeah, we were pretty damn good.
