Some bands do things in the strangest order. There seems to be no logic behind anything they do. But hey, things work, so why would they stop? Emo-core loudmouths San Andreas (Rotterdam/The Netherlands) are the absolute limit if it comes to being bang out of order. They booked a U.K. tour before they even had songs! Half a year later they booked the longest U.K. tour by a Dutch band in 2005: three consecutive weeks, checking out every pub and club in Albion. They applied for the South by Southwest music conference and got an invitation to go there before anybody at home in Holland had ever even heard of them.

After touring 2,5 years straight, they took time off to write their next masterpiece. Vocalist Sopo: "When our first album 'The Lover Kills' was released in 2005, we got a lot of positive responses and played about 125 shows that year. For our next album, we felt that we wanted to follow a natural progression: to create a more grown-up and evolved record." Thus San Andreas teamed up with producer René van der Zee (Cooper/Kung Fu records). Sopo: "René told us basically to follow our hearts and make the music WE wanted to make. All pieces fell in place shortly after this and now we feel like we've made the best album we possibly could have made at this moment and we are all extremely proud of it."

Their debut CD 'The Lover Kills' was released through Squash Records. Sopo: "For this new record, we really wanted to step onto the next level". They struck gold hooking up with the U.K. based label Lockjaw Records (Tribute To Nothing, Muse, A New Day).

'Man Or Monster' will be released 3rd of November in the U.K. A European release date is set for 7th of November.

Sopo: "In order to get it to sound exactly how we wanted it to sound, we decided to call in the recording and mixing expertise of Christiaan Stijnen, who gave us the opportunity to still stay very involved in this process. We found that the hardest part in recording was capturing the vibe and the energy that we have on stage. We feel that we definitely succeeded in reaching the goals we'd set for this album. When you close your eyes while listening to it, you can actually feel like you are 'inside the band'."

To finish this monstrous sound, the record was mastered in the U.S. by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Converge, Ben Folds Five, Thrice, Sepultura, Fall out Boy etc) who made the record sound like the band wanted. The record sounds great, the band has 11 brand new tracks coming out, what will the future be?

The band is ready for this, are you?
