We came together, initially, in friendship made thru our individual involvements in the DIY Punk/Hardcore/Metal(death to false, of course) community. Hometowns spanning from New Mexico to Kansas to Oklahoma to New York, we currently reside in Seattle, WA. In '05/'06 began the process of shaping Samothrace into our present state. Heavy music for heavy times. The lyrics, albeit poetic, are rooted in the ideals of social change, political incoherence, and a bleak but positive outlook on life. intended for those who've taken back their breath and risen on their own and those who wish to do so.



We released our debut album in Fall of 2008, "Life's Trade." We want to thank everyone who bought, reviewed, liked and disliked that album. Overwhelmingly, it done good. Real good. Thanks for the support, friends.
We had a bit of a lull in 2009 due not only to our move but also due to some severe and tough times in our personal lives. We're still alive. We've not only been working with new drummer Joe Axler (Skarp, Book of Black Earth, Splatterhouse) on tightening up we've also been focused on writing new material for our next albums, yet to be titled. We've got some interesting ideas in the works for the next couple of releases. We will be touring the Western U.S. sometime around April/May on our way to Chicago to record again with engineer/producer Sanford Parker. We're aiming for a late summer release date followed by another extensive tour of not only the U.S. but also Europe. Count on it!!! More info will be posted as it comes in on those tours. Hello friends, it has been long in the works and the fruits of the labours have now paid off! Our debut album, "Life's Trade," is now avaiable from our label 20 Buck Spin. The Gatefold 2xLP is available both on black, and on limited edition gold vinyl (150 copies). It is cut at 45 RPM. All copies include a poster, the same A2 size as was included with the Coffins and The Endless Blockade LPs. All vinyl also includes a coupon for a free download of the entire album. The direct mailorder version comes with an embroidered Samothrace logo patch and a sticker of the amazing artwork by David D'Andrea. The above video is of part of a new song called "A Hosre of Our Own." This was early on in the inception of it into our set. It is now completed and receiving its final touches. The polished version will be included on the new album in its entirety. More on that soon.
