"Better Than Ever" is the only way to describe Ryan Turner's return to the Texas music scene! After packing his bags in Texas and moving to Nashville, Turner spent his time in Nashville writing, producing new music and fine tuning his craft. RT has returned to his home State of Texas with a new album in hand and a new Texas tour in the works.
The new CD by RT, "Taking My Sweet Time" shows the maturity and growth in this talented song writers' abilities. Turner, now residing in Austin, Texas, made quite a name for himself here in Texas before moving to Nashville. With Texas being his home, and the eagerness to return to the Texas music scene and the many fans he has here in Texas, RT headed back to the Lonestar State with new music and new insight on writing his own style of great Texas music.
Ryan has long been regarded as a versatile, soulful singer/songwriter who holds a compellingly different perspective on contemporary country music. The new CD, "Taking My Sweet Time" will feature 5 new studio cuts by Turner, as well as 5 songs recorded live. The 10 song CD will give fans a taste of Ryan "in the studio", as well as "onstage".
The first single to be released, "Sweet Time" from the sophomore CD, is a lively, upbeat song that will sure to get your toes tapping. A video of the new single is also being filmed and will be released sometime in April. Other studio songs off the CD include, "Forever Was a Little Longer" which is a very creative ballad with superb, distinctive vocals, "Callin You Out" in which Ryan displays his versatility as an artist, "Everybody Falls" which is full of catchy hook lines, and "Ain't Going Out That Way" which shows Ryan can still rock the house with his own style of Texas music.
During his high school days in the small prison-town of Gatesville, Texas, Ryan picked up his first guitar and started writing songs. His musical tastes were shaped from a variety of influences. Classic sounds from the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Beach Boys, John Mellencamp, the Beatles, the Eagles, George Strait and Tom Petty have all made their impact on Ryan. Along with the greats from the past, he also credits many current song men as mentors. Bruce Robison, Radney Foster, Darrell Scott, Rodney Crowell, and many other behind-the-scenes songwriters are among those he chooses to study and learn from.
"Taking My Sweet Time" is Turner's best effort to date. His genuine approach to his music is refreshing and stays true to his character. The sophomore album by RT is full of thought out melodies and memorable hook lines.
The Texas country music market has played hosts to many great Texas artists, and the Texas country scene is respected all over the country.
