RyAN LiNK [KTC]

hey, i'm RyAN. i sing and play rhythm guitar for Kill The Camera, a rock band in NYC. i'm from Seattle but i've been on the east coast for a few good years now.



i've always been a musician. my first instrument was the rhythm sticks, followed by piano, then clarinet, saxophone, drums, guitar and bass.



it began innocently enough: i sang in the northwest boychoir when i was little. around 15 i discovered the power of rock, and there was no turning back. my first band was called "wild diamond". i played drums.



i ended up being the singer and drummer of a couple of bands because no one else in the band would sing. i sang and played grunge, metal, reggae, jam-rock, power-pop, trip-hop and funk, many incarnations over many moons.



at some point i decided i loved singing enough to study it. so i moved to boston and attended berklee college of music for a couple of semesters. i dropped out and sang for a band called Miss Fortune.



then i caught the acting bug, and started auditioning for things. i moved to new york and got a touring job for a year as the standby to the male lead in "elton john and tim rice's aida".



and then i got to play "roger" in this show called RENT on broadway.



i adore the "craft" of acting and can actually say that i have a bit of training now (thank you matthew corozine!), but music will always be my first love.



so i joined this new band Kill The Camera, and am doing what i always wanted to do in the first place, writing and singing loud, to my heart's content.



p.s. i started playing drums again a couple of years ago. i played on NYCSmoke’s 3rd release "Musique Noir" and i occasionally back up my friends Heather Duby, Tom LoSchiavo and Kacie Sheik.
