Rumours About Angels

On 17th August 2009 the limited edition double album containing multimedia project Rumours About Angels II Birth Process will by released after four years of waiting.

Rumours About Angels II is a multimedia project of the birth of an angel. It comprises of twelve images and seven various compositions.



The technique used to create these images can be described as electronic collage (a combination of digital photography, traditional pictorial art and advanced computer graphics). Superb works, which have been awarded many times, are connected with simultaneously composed experimental music.



About contrast through different means of expression

RAA is a project about contrast. The sensuous and the hideous, perfection and incompleteness, omnipotence and helplessness, silence and commotion, ambient and noise – the birth is a painful and unattractive process but as a result something exceptional, charming and pure comes into existence. This contrast is the main theme of both the music and the graphics on this album. The beauty of the angel clashes with the naturalism of its birth; calm, soothing ambient fragments are interspersed with industrial elements.



The authors of the project

The music was created by Bartosz Hervy, a musician and producer well-known for the bands such as Blindead, Agonised By Love and hrv. The multiplicity of devices and deriving motives from various styles make the material hard to put into strict norms of music genre.



The author of the graphics is Jaroslaw Kubicki, an award winning graphics designer, website creator and recognizable by the use of a mixture of many sundry means of artistic expressions.



The remixes on the additional album were performed in 2005 by various musicians from the field of alternative electronics. The remixers are: Mnemonic (de), God's Bow (de/pl), Fgfc820 (us), Punish Yourself (fr), God's Own Medicine (pl), Forgotten Sunrise (est), Attrition (uk), Sadist (pl).



The project premiere

The first RAA performance took place in 2nd April 2005 in the St. John’s Church in Gdansk. Over 500 people came to the show. The same day the website of the project – http://www.rumoursaboutangels.com – was introduced. The website was later given prestigious awards in web design competitions.
