Ruff D

Ruff D is a is hip-hop/reggae/dancehall producer/ composer, who has been working
within the swiss hip-hop scene over the past 8 years. In 1998, he setup his
first home-studio, and started perfectioning himself in mixing and recording
skills and techniques.
In 2000, he creates his own production company “Lab on Vibe Productions”,
Then, from 2001, he evolved as a ‘riddim-maker’ and recording engineer within the “Hemp Higher Crew”.
In 2002, after a number of releases on mixtapes, compilations and vinyl, he
releases the compilation: “Lab on Vibe: Hip-Hop/Ragga”, which brings together
over 40 artists, rappers, toasters, singers and DJ’s from Switzerland and
France.
Therefore différents independant projects were done. (cf. discography)
In 2005, he founds “Severly ill productions” alongside Riga, Chakal and
Nine. Together, they produce the “Thugz Syle International” compilation, the
first major international hiphop compilation “Made in Switzerland” .
Beginning 2006, they release Chakal’s second album: “Chakal & Co”, which
includes many featurings with some of the biggest US rappers (Juju
(beatnuts), M1 (Dead Prez), Raekwon, Havoc (Mobb Deep ),etc…).
He is now working on several Projects throughout Europe.
