ROY ASHEN - BIOGRAPHY

"She comes to me when it suits her best - with a pint of truth and a pound of test…" With these words describing the moment of artistic inspiration, Roy Ashen kicked his recording career into gear with the self-produced debut CD "A Little Drop of Something Not Quite Blood." Recorded in his Burbank, California apartment in the late 90's, the self-produced CD was instantly received by fans and critics as the emergence of a new and unique sound.

THE NEW ALBUM - ECLIPSE:

A 3-year creative process, this album finds Roy Ashen writing, performing and producing the best music of his career. Eclipse was recorded at legendary Westlake Studios in Hollywood, California, the same studio behind albums for Michael Jackson, Alanis Morrisette, Nine Inch Nails, U2, and more. It also finds Roy collaborating with Grammy winners Andrew Scheps (Chili Peppers, Bjork, Metallica) and Tim Palmer (U2, Bowie, Cure).

The album features an impressive range of songs including the opening title track "Eclipse" and the serious grooves of "Hold it Together Now" and "Karma is a Boomerang." There are also new intimate acoustic performances like "Never Gonna Learn" and "Goodbye."

From Roy's 2010 Album "ECLIPSE"

ECLIPSE

Tell me what I'm here to find

I look inside myself

Full of darkness, full of light

Some days it’s hard to tell

Where are you?

When asked about what inspires him to be a musician, Roy said, “Music is ultimately about communicating ideas, emotions and energy. I get excited about fans bringing my songs into their lives and using them as a soundtrack for their experiences.”
