Born In El Salvador but moved to The States at age 15 the 29th of December of 1992. I've been living in the Washington D.C metropolitan area half of my life for 16 years. At sixteen while taking a half keyboard half guitar class in High School my music teacher placed me as a tenor in the high schools concert choir. From then on my passion for music was born taking me to from a music alliterate to a guy who would make the cuts in the district's choir which was really hard to get to. Later on I joined a madrigals group of only 8 singers giving me the opportunity to perform two solos at the St. Patrick's Church in New York city. after High School I traded my electric guitar for an acoustic guitar and in 2001 I wrote my very first song called "Feel The Rain". The feeling of accomplishment of my first song lead me to whatever inspired me to keep writing more and more and now I have around 30 finished compositions and hundreds of unfinished lyrics and ideas I call "Ideotas y Esqueletos" which means big ideas and skeletons. My music is a variation of interpretations of sounds and lyrics depending on the feeling at the occasion.
I recorded my first demo album of 6 songs in 2005 at an independent home studio called "The Blue Room" after the color of the walls of that room. With the help of Matt Bryant on charge of the microphones Cubase melodica and a mandolin. I was able to record and produce 6 songs by in less then 30 hours. I called it "Hoy va a Llover" which means today it's going to rain, after track number two which became everybody's favorite tune, and still is one of the most requested when playing live. The second most requested is track number 6 "Tal Daño" meanning such damage, where every body can relate to the damage you get when you miss someone a lot.
My music influences range from early delta blues legend Robert Johnson, singer song writer Ricardo Arjona, to Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and Irelands new troubadour Damien Rice I like experimenting with a little bit of everything mixing reggae with folk and rock with classical. By mixing the wide range of my influences plus my history with classical choir singing as a tenor I try to look for every artist's goal of sounding different.
