Rodney Fisher

Rodney Fisher (ex-Goodshirt) has been busy with the final touches on his soon to be released album project The Backyard.



The album, Songs From The Backyard, is a collection of nostalgic country folk songs. Written in New Zealand, the album is full of an optimistic melancholy reflecting a unique take on love, life and growing up. Songs From The Backyard was recorded in New Zealand by Goodshirt collaborators Murray Fisher and Kerry Furlong, and produced by Breaks Co-op's Andy Lovegrove.



The album also features contributions from a host of New Zealand musicians, including Marcus Lawson (Dave Dobbyn Band/Lucid3) Michael Franklin-Brown (HLAH/Pluto/SideKickNick) Angel Gordon, Murray Fisher(Goodshirt/Voom/SideKickNick) Jol Mulholand (Gasoline Cowboy/The Mots) Andy Lovegrove (Breaks Co-op) Anika Moa, Madeline Sami (Sami Sisters) Victoria Girling-Butcher (Lucid3) and Geoff Maddock (Golden Horse/Bressa Creeting Cake)



Rodney is currently living in London with his wife Clare, their new baby girl Evelyn Grace and their small dog, Jack.



He often performs in London as Rodney Fisher & The Rest, an evolving line-up which includes an assortment of some the best musicians from the London folk scene, and fellow expatriate bass player Rob Ranger aka Bird Dog.
