It's a concise "wham, bam, thank you Ma'am" no-nonsense half an hour of straight up good vibes that leave you wanting to waste another 30 minutes of your life on this record. 8/10. Loud & Quiet

The most urgent album we heard all year. From the same school of rock as The Cribs, Nirvana and any other gritty, riff ripping ‘fuck you’ attitude bands. Artrocker

There’s definitely enough here to get Damien* noticed, so keep up the guerrilla word of mouth actions and pass it on. 8/10 Gobshout

DAMIEN* do it well. Take 'Confidants' for example - the video for which follows this review. Its bass driven rhythm is straight out of 1978 / 79 New Wave England and merged with the guitar hooks and vocals of early Pulp.7.5/10 Loud Horizon

If you liked Sunshine Underground's latest album, you're probably going to like that. It's really for a fan of all things indie. Tasty Fanzine

Damien* know the visceral thrills of a good song, and craft them lovingly, brightly and well. Nice. A New Band A Day 02/15/10

Their sound is lively, tight and enthusiastic. Whispering and Hollering

Damien* clearly have the talent needed to present a new genre to the table. God Is In the TV

Is a genuine sound that would come on Radio One and would have people clambering for a pen to try and catch the name of the band when the song is finished. The New Current

There’s that rare combination of the visceral and the cerebral joining together to shape a great album. The Weblog of Leonard’s Lair

Damien* puts a whole new spin on the generic British pop song. It's just refreshing. Grade: A Remain in Light

The album Crippled Cute sets the tone with formidable force while never allowing an inch of predictability. Mojophenia

Grinding bass and fierce drumming and a completely in-your-face presence charge these track. Very well! 75 or Less (USA)

It’s a killer throwback blast of guitar crunch and arena filling choruses. It’s an ass-shaker from its opening chord to the last. Radio Dick (USA)

A quite splendid proposition, take a listen to ‘Confidants’ and hear for yourself. This is the sort of tuneage that was rocking my world back in the 1990’s. MP3 Hugger (IRL)
