Its not about bullshit like fashion or popularity.



RISEN is a vegan straight edge band: all members of the band live a vegan/ drug-free lifestyle for a variety of reasons. We are a band that has things to say and that is interested in promoting a hardcore scene that gives a shit about the state of the world today, from issues of veganism/ animal rights to political and gender issues, to living a drug-free lifestyle. We believe there is plenty of room in hardcore for critical thinking, progression and fun all at the same time.
We have had two releases, one CD e.p. Left With the Ashes, released by Catalyst Records about two years ago, and a split 7" e.p. (with Breaking Away) titled Orwell Was an Optimist, which was a limited vinyl release (and is pretty much sold out now), also released by Catalyst.
We released Playing the Victim, a new demo, in the Summer of 2007, followed by a short West Coast tour (with out friends Gather, 7 Generations, and Time For Change). The four song demo is available now ( includes three new songs and a re-worked version of Sacrifice).
