Rip

The title of Rip's debut album says it all: Fashionably Late. A fresh new artist for 2010, yet Rip has years of experience to his name. But how does one share the stage with national acts, earn radio airplay and even garner a Platinum Plaque from the RIAA all without having his own album under his belt? "I wasn't mentally, physically or emotionally ready or mature.until now" explains Rip, whose years of hard work are about to be displayed. As Erik Bradley, Music Director of Rip's hometown radio station WBBM-FM in Chicago puts it: "Rip is driven, ambitious, hard working, grassroots and savvy."
Rip's currently set to release his debut solo album Fashionably Late in Spring 2010 which features production of his own as well as production from Certified Gold producer DJ Pain 1. Rip's lead single "Watchin Me," a derivative work inspired by Rockwell's 1984 hit "Somebody's Watching Me," is one of his many radio-ready songs from the album that's gearing up to impact the airwaves in the second quarter of 2010. Although inspired by popular culture, Rip's Fashionably Late boasts elements from all genres of contemporary music including pop, rock, electro to rap that it's hard to even categorize it in just one genre.
In 2003 Rip made his first recording appearance on an album compiled of many different artists, but it was a far cry for what he originally set out to do. After years of more recording appearances and performing alongside national acts such as Flo Rida, Chingy and DJ Felli Fel, to name a few; Rip has even helped a fellow Chicago recording artist go Platinum for the first time with his promotional and marketing efforts earning him a RIAA certified Platinum Plaque. Rip is ready to stand out on his own. In 2008 his radio single "Hollywood" saw regional airplay and now he is in the final stages of putting together his first solo effort of his career.
