Rikke Lie is a singer and songwriter with passion for musical styles ranging from her dance and drum work with African rhythms, to jazzy harmonies and strong melodies with thoughtful lyrics. Her music is warm and groovy with a catchy sound and with her intense and sophisticated singing she's telling stories of life and love touching listeners in all ages.
Rikke Lie is releasing her 2nd soloalbum "Heart, Beats & Blood" in spring 2013. The songs are recorded in Copenhagen with some of the finest musicians from the world, jazz and pop scene in Denmark. The album is mixed in Pharmasson Studio in Paris.
1st. single "Flashback" featuring the singer Tchando has been in rotation on The National Danish Radio.
Beside of Rikke Lie's solo career she also worked with world music artists such as Vusi Mahlasela (South African), AB.Crentsil (Ghana), Tchando Embalo (Guinea-Bissau), Dawda Jobarteh (Gambia), Alain Apaloo (Togo), Deodato Siquir (Mozambique), Drori Hansen Furniture, Continental Heat, Katamanto Highlife Orchestra and many others.
On Rikke Lie's debut album "Style of Glamour from 2004 she worked with fine jazz and world musicians from Denmark such as Jens Winther (trompet), Ben Besiakov (piano, keys), Jakob Dinesen (sax), Anders Christensen (bass) Nana Osibio (bass) and some musicians from the Danish rock, pop scene Assi Roar (bass) Mikkel Nordsø (guitar). The song "Near the Angels" was featured in Alex Frank Larsen's tv-documentary "Slaves in the family" about descendants from African and Caribbean slaves living in Scandinavia today.
From 1996–2001 Rikke Lie studied vocal at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark - a higher educational institution funded by the Danish Ministry of Culture.

In 1997 and 1998 Rikke Lie won Yamaha Acoustic Competition with the duo Eye 2 Eye together with singer/songwriter Dawn Fastholm (Fastpoholmen) The duo appeared on the compilation-cd 'Live In Copenhagen' and in the national television programme "Go'Morgen Danmark".

Rikke Lie has performed in Denmark, Scandinavia and the music also brought her to perform in New York, Nashville and The Virgin Islands (U.S.).
Together with Michelle Sanders and Maja Kristjansson Rikke Lie was the founder of the first Danish singer/songwriter venue "Club Junction" which presented more than 300 songwriters from all over the world in cosy and attentive atmosphere. The club existed from 1999 to 2007 and received an honourable prize in 2003. or supporting Danish music, 'Danish Jazz Beat and Folk Autors "Spil Dansk Pris 2003".
