Hello, my name's Rich McMahon, a songwriter and performer based in Birmingham, UK. Raised in Wicklow, Ireland I moved to the UK in the 90s with a battered suitcase, a guitar and a red-haired girl from Kilkenny who would later become my wife. Four years ago I left my job at a sawdust factory to pursue music full time and have never looked back. I got my first paid work at various branches of Starbucks before moving on to pubs and Irish clubs, where my mixture of self-penned material, Irish standards and interpretations of folk, pop and country classics have gone down well with audiences I've recorded film music and have worked alongside some interesting and talented people along the way, from traditional Irish players and high-profile folk artists to Indian musicians, gospel singers and the much-loved Australian entertainer Rolf Harris.
