Richie Brown with his friends, Garth Brooks and Jerrod Niemann.

8 Million Records and counting!!! Don’t Just Dream. Believe!!! A motto that Richie not only lives by, but has proven as a fact today. The biggest selling artist in RIAA History, Garth Brooks, has cut 3 songs he co-wrote with Richie and they have now sold over 8 million records.

It wasn’t always this way though. Richie Brown grew up in both Denver City and Seminole, Texas. He started singing at the very tender age of 5 in church. Followed into High School Choir and then on to the famed South Plains College Commercial Music Program in Levelland, Texas. There he performed on the monthly TV show for a year and a half and there he would meet a friend/co-writer that would shape his life in the future named Jerrod Niemann. It wasn’t long before he was setting his sights on Nashville, TN.

Nashville was not very welcome though, as it never is, and many people told him that his ultimate dream could never come true (which was to write with his mentor Garth Brooks). Shortly after moving to Nashville he met back up with Jerrod, and Richie proved them wrong when he met up with Garth in 2001 and was asked by Garth if he would like to write, in which they co-wrote together with Jerrod, the 2006 top 30 hit “That Girl Is A Cowboy," the third single off Garth’s "The Lost Sessions" album, but the biggest hit came when they co-wrote the 1 hit "Good Ride Cowboy," the tribute to the late great Chris Ledoux. The song after only 4 days of airplay debuted at 18, and broke the Billboard highest debut single of all time record, which was also held by Brooks. In 11 short weeks the song went 1 in December 2005. Richie, after losing his father in 1996, moved the crowd to tears at the 1 party as he gave all the respect to Brooks, Ledoux and his own father. To date The Lost Sessions is certified 3 times platinum (3 million copies).

In November, 2007 Garth included two of Richie’s songs in his "Ultimate Hits" package. "Good Ride Cowboy" was included as well as a new song that Richie and Jerrod co-wrote with Garth called "Midnight Sun." In March 2008 "Midnight Sun" became the third single released off of "The Ultimate Hits." It is currently on country radio. Richie and Jerrod both were cast as actors by Garth to be in the video as well. It world premiered on GAC on 03-29-08 and can still be seen on GAC as well as CMT Pure and on the web on GACTV.COM. Recently "The Ultimate Hits" was certified 5 times platinum (5 million records).

Richie is signed with Sea Gayle Music and EMI Music Publishing and has been very proud to write for them for the past 3 years. He is proof that Dreams are not enough you have to BELIEVE!!!
