Nur selten ist es einer Band gelungen, noch vor Bekanntmachung ihres ersten Demos einen Plattenvertrag zu bekommen. So geschehen bei REPULSED, welche die Chance nutzten, ihren heutigen Labelmates MAD DOGGIN' eine gebrannte Vorabkopie dieses Demos in die Hand zu drücken, als diese den Support für STAIND im nahe gelegenem Mannheim bestritten. MAD DOGGIN’ überreichte Tiefdruck-Musik das Demo, welche der Band direkt einen Deal anboten.
Tonnenschwere Riffs, eine Atmosphäre die unter die Haut geht und intelligentes Songwriting sind die Basics von REPULSED, welche sich 2005 im beschaulichen Völklingen im Saarland zusammengefunden haben. Doch sind mit Basics in diesem Falle auch wirklich nur die grundlegenden Elemente gemeint, welche in jedem Song unverkennbar sind, sei es ein absolutes Brett oder eine gefühlvolle Ballade. Die fünf Jungs von REPULSED beherrschen beide Gangarten in Perfektion, werden sich dabei niemals untreu und haben somit bereits auf dem Debütalbum 'State Of Inner Truth' das geschafft, wonach sich viele etablierte Bands die Finger lecken – den Spagat zwischen Facettenreichtum und eigener Identität.
Hierbei ist die Monster-Stimme von Sänger Matthias Braun, welche rau und dominant, aber auch sehr einfühlsam daher kommen kann, nicht unerheblich, verleiht er doch den Songs mit seiner schnörkellosen und ehrlichen Attitüde endgültig den REPULSED - Siegel.
Eine weitere Besonderheit von REPULSED ist sicherlich die ungewöhnlich positive Lebenseinstellung, welche man im Rockbereich ja öfter mal vergebens sucht.
„Musik kann vielleicht keine Probleme lösen, aber sie kann helfen, leichter mit ihnen umzugehen. Außerdem kann sie unglaublich Spaß machen und ich hoffe, dass wir den Leuten diese Gefühle vermitteln können, wenn sie sich mit REPULSED befassen.“

REPULSED beschäftigen sich mit Alltagsgefühlen und Situationen aus dem menschlichen Miteinander wie Liebe, Hass, Verzweiflung und Enttäuschung, aber in eine sehr lyrische und bildhafte Sprache verpackt und immer mit einer Portion Optimismus. So auch der Titelsong des Albums 'State Of Inner Truth' –
„Ein sehr positiver Text. Es ist mir wichtig, Dinge in meinen Texten zu verarbeiten, an die ich selbst glaube. Hier geht es darum, nicht auf irgendwelche passenden Gelegenheiten oder andere Menschen zu warten, die einem die Arbeit machen, sondern selbst Gas zu geben. Jeder Tag bietet eine neue Chance. Die Voraussetzungen sind da, man muss bloß die richtige Denkweise haben, um zu seinem 'Zustand der inneren Wahrheit' zu kommen.“

REPULSED sind mit ihrem Debütalbum 'State Of Inner Truth' bereit, der Welt zu zeigen, dass auch aus Deutschland erfolgreicher Alternativ Metal kommt und den ersten Step in Richtung Traumerfüllung zu gehen.

“Be sure of what you really want and then go and get it!“ That is exactly what the guys in REPULSED have been thinking and doing.
Hardly has a band been given the opportunity to sign a record deal before their first demo had even been out… But this is exactly what happened to REPULSED, when they seized the moment and handed their present-day labelmates MAD DOGGIN’ an advance copy of the above mentioned demo when they were supporting STAIND in the nearby city of Mannheim. MAD DOGGIN’ gave the disc to Tiefdruck-Musik who instantly offered REPULSED a contract.
Massive riffage, an atmosphere that runs shivers down your spine and intelligent, heartfelt songwriting – those are the basics for REPULSED, who got together 2005 in the small town haze of Völklingen, Germany. But basics only refers to the essential elements that unmistakeably mark each REPULSED song, heavily pounding metal tracks and melancholy ballads alike. The five guys in REPULSED are perfectly comfortable with both of these, they never seem to lose track of what they set out for. They have accomplished on their debut album 'State Of Inner Truth' what many established bands simply lack, a rich diversity on the one hand and a genuine own identity on the other.
The voice of singer Matthias Braun, which not only has a harsh and dominant quality to it, but can sound quite soft and sensitive also, takes a crucial part in this, as he eventually gives the songs their distinctive signet with his unpretentious and honest attitude.
Another one of REPULSED’s specific features is the unusually positive approach to life in their lyrics, something that is often missing in rock today.
“Maybe music cannot solve problems, but it can help people to deal with them a little easier. Apart from that, it can be incredibly fun and I hope that we can get these feelings across to those spending time with what we do.”

REPULSED deals with all familiar feelings such as love, hate, despair and disappointment but they manage to neatly package them in a very lyrical and pictorial language, never forgetting about that hint of optimism. This applies e.g. for the title song of the album 'State Of Inner Truth'.
“A very positive lyric. For me it is important to work up the things I believe in myself in my lyrics. This song is about not waiting for suitable situations or other people that will do your work but to get going yourself instead and see the chances that every day brings. The preconditions are there but it is your mindset that enables you to reach your own 'State Of Inner Truth'".
