“Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles is not as it is on TV” comments Lead Vocalist and Guitarist, Ryan Gelber. “Our lyrics stem from personal experience. They tell our stories. Stories of love, loss, fear and memories. Stories that seem to seep through the cinematic instrumentation. It is the soundtrack of our lives”.

Relax To Paris was created by schoolmates Ryan Gelber and Garrett Marks after Ryan’s song, “Save Me for a Rainy Day”, a song he wrote at age 14, won the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Their indie style pop rock has been described as The Killers meets Jimmy Eat World, but after listening to any one of their 80 songs, you will see they have a style uniquely their own.

Since their inception, Relax To Paris has been leaving their mark on the Southern California music scene by playing some of the southland’s most prestigious venues and opening for bands like indie rockers, Something Corporate and 80’s sensation Flock of Seagulls.

Once you experience their live show, you will understand why Relax To Paris has been able to win numerous battle of the band competitions and attract hundreds of fans to venues like: House of Blues, The El Rey, Troubadour, Roxy, Key Club, Knitting Factory, and secured residency at Hollywood’s famous Viper Room.

In 2003, Relax To Paris was one of three nominees for Coca Cola’s New Music Award at the American Music Awards after they were selected from thousands of nationwide entries.

Relax to Paris has sold over 3000 copies of their three self released EPs and their song “Notice Me” was predominantly featured in the 2005 movie “My Big Fat Independent Movie”. Their newest release, “Broken Machines” showcases the single “Dangerous Mix of Chemicals” and contains some of their best work to date.
