…::::On
the Set of the "It's
Time" Video::::…
The cameras were rolling on the set of VC's
video shoot for the single "It's Time" on Renaissance Disco's Legal
Rhythm on Saturday, March 29, 2008. The video covered various locations
in Kingston
including
Barbican, Sandy Park and Liguanea, which saw crowds of people gathered
to give
their support.
13th Tribe Productions,
a fast rising
production house responsible for Xinyu's "Man" and Natural Black's
soon to be released "Nine to Five," was in charge and shooting began
at the crack of dawn. Although midday showers threatened to bring
activities to
an early end, the rain eventually subsided and the director gave the
word for
shooting to resume. VC's smooth vocals soon resonated once more.
In the capable hands of
directors, David
Rodgers and Nathan Cowan, the crew went through the shots effortlessly
backed
by talented and enthusiastic members of neighbouring communities who
featured
in most of the starring roles delivering impressive performances.
No flashy hooplas but
with an eye opening
concept that's sure to provide the public with food for thought, "It's
Time" promises to be one of the breakthrough videos of 2008. In fact,
don't be surprised if it even tickles a funny bone or two.
Now in the final editing
stages, "It's
Time" is slated to be released in another two (2) weeks. Check out
the behind the scenes pictures available here at VC's
MySpace Page (http://www.myspace.com/reggaevc) in the
interim and you can also listen to the track here on the page. Stay
tuned to find out more.

…::::In
the Words of
VC::::…
Remaining
optimistic about the music business, VC holds
Taurus Riley in high regard. VC says he is happy to know that
well produced
songs with good content from singers still have a
place in our reggae market.
VC also
feels that underground and on-air disc
jockeys should be more aware when
it comes on to playing music that is being doled out to listeners,
especially the
youths.
As for
his colleagues, VC says that reggae artists have so
much to say and as such they should come up with tasteful ways to
deliver their messages.
VC is a
firm believer that artists should not sell their
listeners short. He affirms that listeners should be exposed
to the best kind
of music. He adds that artists need to understand the
wielding power they have and
feels that the sooner they figure out whether they are
artists or gangsters, the
better it will be for our music.

BIOGRAPHY:
VC
blasted onto the reggae scene in 2000 with his debut
single "By His
Deeds." The song was an
instant success and the name “VC” soon
became synonymous with a type of music dating
back to the days of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Jacob Miller
with echoes of VC's
contemporary roots and eclectic influences.
Speaking
of roots, VC, born Valton Craigie, was born in England
to
Jamaican parents. He moved to Jamaica
at age 10 and spent years dabbling in the music industry in
both the United States
and Jamaica
before finding his niche.
He always knew he wanted to be in the music business and
worked
as a deejay
with “Legacy” sound system in the 1980s
and later at
the nightclub, “Mirage.” He was a sound engineer by
profession and produced
other artistes before eventually building up the courage to
stand
on the other
side of the microphone.
Needless
to say, VC has never looked back. The success of
his hit single propelled him to perform locally on shows such
as Air Jamaica Jazz
& Blues, Reggae Sumfest, Rebel Salute,
Bob Marley Memorial and Peter Tosh Memorial concert. The
demand for him overseas has lead to tours in England,
New York and Canada.
Since
then VC took a hiatus to be with his newborn son and family. Still
honing his
craft over the years he continues to write, record and perform.
He has also been
busy working in the studio with such renowned musicians as Dean Frasier, Rupert Bent
Jnr. and Paul
Kasstik recording
over 20 new tracks towards his upcoming album, including a
duet with International
Irish artist, Diedra
Kellan.
VC is now back
in full force with recently released hit singles
“Judgment
Day,” “Rough Neck”
and “Sweet
Child of Mine (Joshua).” Fans
can also look out for soon to be released projects
with Renaissance Disco
and tracks on Dig
Dis, Caspa and Big
Tings
labels.
VC's
conscious lyrics continue to give social commentary
complimented by a backdrop of rich instrumentals and
hard-driving beats. With his
music reaching reggae lovers worldwide VC sees his role as
creating music that
inspires and touches people's hearts.
