R.E.G. aka TonyChachere

The native Houston artist R.E.G. (Rare Emerald Gemini) with roots from Opelousas ,LA. aka TonyChachere,is no newcomer to his craft.He's been writing his inspirational raps since the early 90's.In 2000 he was found by hot Houston track maker KenCole.With MikeRobb the marketing mind,and the muscle,they formed their independent label Nfinity ent Recording many songs over the years,in 2003 they hit the streets with R.E.G. da underground ep. A quality project worth recognition."I was very conscious in my raps, depressions,and struggles made the cd lack diversity"."I needed something marketable".Follow up releases have been delayed until now. The rapper took time to find his identity,refine himself,and return as TonyChachere.Known for boasting about his lyrical skills,TonyC claims to be the "King of the Gumbo"."Gumbo is a style of music,culture,and a region of the Gulf coast in my eyes"."The people want some good ishh,so I"mma serv"em TonyChachere". In 2007 R.E.G. and C-ROOT released an underground colab CD named "Hwy 6 Connect",in effort to represent,and show the diversity this section of Houston possesses. "People use to think of my area as a joke,it's really a roll or get rolled over mentality there. I wanted to show Alief,and HWY 6 ain't no joke. It's just like any other spot,but it's really off the chain. The resources are there,and I can get crawfish too!! Haha" The CD was a success,and is still buzzing in the streets of Houston. "I honestly think people are waiting to see my full potential,and me too". Tony C plans on releasing two new cds in early 2010,with new production from KenCole,and colabs with upcoming artists Losthoughts,C-ROOT,and Mizta 45.
