Rece Slim born and raised in Kansas City, MO began singing in his church choir at the tender age of five. While attending Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts in high school he studied Vocal/Instrumental Music.

Later at UMKC (University of Missouri in Kansas City) he continued studying both Digital Audio Recording and Vocal Music/Music Composition. There he started listening to different kinds of music beyond just gospel, picked up his first used $50 keyboard, and began writing his first songs.



Rece Slim’s compulsion and passion for music has lead him to compose, arrange and produce R&B/Hip Hop/Rap & Gospel music. Composing theme music for the Boys and Girls Club of Kansas City “Believe.” Opening up for artist such as Mary J. Blidge & Jon B. with 15,000 plus attendees and performing for the Black Chamber of Commerce. Expect a sexy, sultry, and prominent effective sound with manifold essence.



His influences include Earth Wind & Fire, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, George Clinton, Baby Face, Gerald Levert & Switch from the DeBarge Family. Currently Rece Slim is writing, arranging and composing music for his new CD titled “The Days & The Life of an Ascertain Artist,” feauturing many local pioneers. About to begin teaching production, harmony & the literacy of sound equipment for several non-for-profit middle/high schools here in the Kansas City area, Rece Slim will continue his incentive and desire for music.
