BASIC HISTORY

First-based and established underground label in Romania, REBEL MUSIC started in 93s in Bacau-Romania, after spending 2 years abroad. First years i mainly dj-ed and organised parties back in my hometown, most of them being the first in the city, pioneering and learning things.

Then in 96, i teamed up with Grishu to re-open legendary underground club TARGET and we started making history with live acts as Parazitii, BUG Mafia, Suie Paparude, DJ Vasile, La familia, Ura De Dupa Usa, God, Grasu XXL s.a. Meanwhile ('93-'98), local radio stations in town were airing our REBEL RADIO, a weekly 3h show about national underground scene.

In 1998 i ended all my radio-tv-press activity, i moved to Arad and teamed up with Parazitii as manager and later as a producer, colabo succesfully lasting 6 years. Big parties continued in TUB, another famous local underground club where i was dj-ing.

We emmerged as label in 2001 once i finally moved to Bucharest and launched the first campaign - the raptivism of the artists and the excellency of the rebel brand, widely promoted and well respected, made a point. Many projects, bands and tours followed, so by the time SABOTAJ (The Compilation) was out, we had allready a pretty tough portfolio in all departments: management, production, booking, promo etc (see bands)

Never counting but mattering concerts, tours, studio-sessions and awards like the 2004 MTV Europe (see below video "Egali din nastere") and many platinum and golden discs, but the real achievement is the army of suporters and friends. Thank you!

Rebel Music was never only about music. We have also been involved or produced many social/environmental campaigns like JOS CENZURA - mediablast featuring freedom-superstar LARRY FLINT and rap-heroes PARAZITII (2004), ANTI-PLAYBACK - sarcastic legendary video (2001), SALVATI ROSIA MONTANA - we are the proud parents of FANFEST and have produced the first 2 years www.myspace.com/salvatirosiamontana, MERITA O VIATA - rip liliana and others. Now, after 25 albums, 23 videos, 5 campaigns and tons of shows and festivals, we heading FRINGE - the free arts - planning things, music and events for people to express themselves.

Soon to come: PROIECTUL ALBASTRU (yes, we still doin' that masterpiece!) and all-kind-fringe events (www.urbanskillz.eu). All eyes on JUNKY! He did it again on V2 and after bravely passing a hard year he is now in labo for debut album (www.myspace.com/junkyromania). We also thinking some rocks and chills.
