"Music should strike fire
from the heart of man,
and bring tears
from the eyes of woman."
~Ludwig Van Beethoven

Rayne Grant's NOCTURNAL BEES are a Powerhouse in the world of Folk-Punk, grinding their way across fertile fields of music like a thresher. In the vein of The Pogues and Ani DiFranco her unique brand of artistry sets her apart amidst the widespread lackluster of the modern commercial music landscape!
It seems she has always had her finger in the pie, organizing benefit concerts; hosting three radio shows @ Telluride's. KOTO 91.7FM, (one of them interviewing musical talent; Patrice Pike, Igor Shor and the Russian Rednecks, Forest Fagan, The String Cheese Incident to name a few), live performance (Including involvement with the local Telluride Repertory Theater), working with video and editing @ TCTV, even booking bands briefly in ATX. In the end though her music is the thing…the driving force that has propelled her, headlong into the void…
Born in Small Town, Mississippi, enveloped by music and art, she began singing and writing when she was knee high to a grasshopper. Her father, a DJ in New Orleans, introduced her to a multitude of artists and styles. His mother, Bobby "Momo" Brown was an entertainer in NOLA in her hay day, throwing lavish after parties with other local performers such as Chubby Checker and Fats Domino in attendance. Old style Jazz and Blues were mainstays when ol' "BB" was on the keys, and has remained a haunting influence for Rayne since her youth. Many where the times when "Momo" would pat the bench and offer her a seat only to smack her knuckles harshly with a ruler and tell her she would never be as good as she with playin' like that.

Art is Art
preserve artistic vision! If you like what you hear, spread the word! Wouldn't it be nice to know that in this crazy world people can work together to manifest a brighter future!?!

Genre: What genre do I fall under? Hey, I guess that depends on who I am playing with. Each of my songs have a different feel. Rock?Blues?Jazz?Folk?Punk?Reggae?Country? That is why I love the freedom of art.

"Rayne is the hottest thing in FolkPunk to come out of the musical city of Austin, TX in twenty years." Rick Savage (editor in chief funkPunk Monthly)
As an artist growing up in the heart of the Blues.Mississipi. she was indelibly imbued with the love of song, drawing, writing, and poetry composition.
When she was 18 years old, she bought a guitar and began putting her poems to music. Self taught and only playing by ear, she has written vividly luxuriant songs, often bemoaning pressing social issues.

She has played at such venues as: "Fly Me to the Moon Saloon" as well as "The Historic Sheriden Opera House", located in Telluride, Colorado. Rayne has also played at "Emos", "Red Eyed Fly", "Headhunters", and "Flamingo Cantina" in Austin, TX, and was a featured act in the revival of "Live @ Lakeway" at the Lakeway Inn bar, and played during the Kinko's Classic Champions Tour '05. Rayne is also involved in the musical collaboration,
