Starting out in 2006, RALEIGH thrived on the idea of creating a style of music that would keep their listeners wanting more. RALEIGH would not be classified as veterans of the Indie/Pop Punk music scene. However, do not let this sway your opinion on this new 5 piece out of the South Shore Massachusetts area. The becoming sound of RALEIGH is centered on "bringing the rock" with their own inspired and creative flair. "We have a pop punk sound with a Post Hardcore twist that is both unexpected and refreshing," explains OME. We never said that we wanted to be a replication of any other band when we first started. We simply wanted to create a form of music that we felt comfortable playing, so in turn everyone that listens to us can bond with our music that much more. RALEIGH brings an inspired live act that never disappoints, so come out to a show and take it in. This unique sound was evident in the bands debut singles Its Held in the Silence and Videxia, which were released in 2006 respectively. Produced by Eric Stobbart (Bassist of local talent ASTREA) and mixed and mastered by Eric as well, the bands first releases are already being hailed as fan favorites by RALEIGH’s already strong following. Growing stronger and stronger by the day, RALEIGH was overtaken by the response that they received from not only the local fans of the area, but as well as the local bands that they have looked up to for years. Reaching over 400,000 plays before the release of their debut EP, this is a band to look for in 2008. In 2007 RALEIGH brought on a new member to take the reigns of bass, Cody Lossow. Formerly of the band, The Proposal, Cody’s style immediately molded with the band and his live presence was the perfect fit. Now with a new spin on their sound RALEIGH is beginning to produce at the level that they were always capable of. Playing shows with such bands as SUGARCULT, SO THEY SAY, LOVE HATE HERO, THE HIGH COURT, NEW ATLANTIC, HOLIDAY PARADE, and many more the band strides for a big year in 2008. We are FINISHING our debut EP labeled “KARMA” within the month of March and it will be released in August of 2008 so be on the lookout for a crazy CD RELEASE PARTY as well as many other announcements. We appreciate anyone and everyone that listens to our music and supports us because this simply would not be worth it without you. So please, never hesitate to send us messages or comments or simply say "hey" to us when you see us at shows or around the city because we will always show you guys and girls support right back. South Shore 5-piece offers energetic live show, dynamic compositions, catchy hooks.what more could you possibly want? –Facebook.com Hailing from South Shore, Massachusetts, Raleigh, a youthful pop punk group (the majority of the band members have yet to reach the age of 21) shows plenty of promise and potential in a local scene generally dominated by the infamous Boston punk and hardcore genres. Established in early 2006, Raleigh offers a unique combination of pop punk energy fused with a post-hardcore influence that fans of Senses Fail, Four Year Strong, and Halifax can appreciate. –Beat the Scene I recall mentioning last October that I could not wait to hear the upcoming efforts from South Shore's rock quintet Raleigh. The wait is finally over… Raleigh releases their debut EP entitled Karma in August. Overall, Karma is a masterpiece. Raleigh displays more character and strength in this single EP than most artists show in a career. Spanning six tracks in just under a half hour, Karma highlights nearly every aspect of the band's flavor, without replicating an exact sound more than once across the album. From the galloping intro that opens "Man Your Weapons" to the epic symphony closing of "Riptides" and all the catchy guitars riffs, beats and wholesome group vocals in between, I guarantee, you'll be hooked. Finally, the best part? Karma lacks the ever prevalent sound of an auto-tuner that can often be found hiding beneath the surface in most other pop punk recording sessions. The question is, will Raleigh succumb to the infamous "sophomore slump"? I doubt it. –Beat the Scene Shirts also on sale at shows or through us personally!
