When Kekell Sá aka Rakell Sá was a little girl she used to follow dancers and singers and try to mimic their dance moves and singing. Music was her passion, and it was evident to her family that she was destined to be a star.
She was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, to musician parents; which helped to manifest the untapped potential within her. Her household was always full of musical inspiration. From as early as the age of 5, she started performing in a group that performed at schools, family functions and local acts.
From her early teens, she started her own group, which began to perform more professionally, doing more and more gigs and receiving the exposure to a vibrant public that convinced her of her future life as a musician.
"I enjoyed it more than taking it as a profession", she said. in 1999 Kekell moved to Barcelona, Spain with her family, balancing studies with music and dance, and still participating in local dance groups whenever possible.
It was on her first trip to Jamaica, that she fell in love with the music and the culture of Reggae and Dancehall. She spent her time in Jamaica exploring the vibrant musical culture of the small Caribbean island and did many performances and interviews on popular television stations such as MTV Tempo, Smile Jamaica, Cash Flow, CTV, Village TV, RETV, TVJ, CVM and she also appeared in quite a few Caribbean magazines, getting the cover of Teenage Observer, Spark, Flash News, Straight Jacket and Hear Dem; Receiving articles and full page spreads in Totally U, Speak, Entertainment Now, Mark my Words and 876 magazines.
When Kekell was in Jamaica, she created shockwaves with her sexy style, fresh sound and vibrant stage presence that makes her performance exotic and unique. After recording with some top Jamaican producers, she released her first single "If You Ready" with an accompanying video clip, which went first place on the RETV MVP Charts and held strong for over a month. Kekell had several live performances at the trendy Village Café and Up on the Roof, and performed at the popular Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival and other popular reggae festivals. She also completed her first tour in 2007; the Hype TV School Tour where she performed at different schools around Jamaica where the students went crazy for her unique style and great stage performances. Her last gig in Jamaica was a great honour for her as she opened for Billy Ocean, James Ingram and The Manhattans on a huge 2 night blow out in Ocho Rios and Kingston.
You can find in Kekell influences from many of the artists she admires. "It's difficult for me to decide on a style. I have a very wide and varied musical taste; from Janis Joplin, to Madonna and crazy, sexy Lady Gaga! I also love a lot of the greats from Jamaica like the revolutionary Bob Marley and on the more contemporary side; Sean Paul, Damien Marley & Stephen Marley. I could never forget my roots of course; I grew up on Brazilian music by; Tom Jobim , Caetano and Cazuza."

She is currently living in London and she has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in London, Spain and Sweden such as; Cafe de Paris, Punk Soho, Wandsworth Palais; Luz de Gas; and Bålsta Boren and is gaining immense popularity in Europe.
.
Kekell Sá recently finished recording her debut album titled "Fortaleza" which translates to Strength, Fortitude and Courage. Fortaleza also is the name of her city of birth. Her album is a unique blend of Pop, R&B and Brazilian music which will introduce the world to a new and exciting style of music! One of the tracks on the album titled "Me Beija", was released in late 2010 in Brazil and quickly reached number 6 of the most requested songs for the month. Her new single "Addict" is already making big waves.
…"What makes her a candidate to earn the title of "superstar"? First off she has a killer instinct for writing melody and beats that would make Max Martin crazy-envious. Second, she possesses such a hypnotic fluidity to her movements that she dances like a silk scarf caught in a gentle breeze. Third, her voice is so crisp and pure – even when she's singing a little naughty- that listening is like sipping from a pristine mountain stream; it's an invigorating experience"… Allen Foster (Songwriter's Monthly).

Look out for Kekell Sá!
